Jennifer Spitler (she/hers) LCPC
Founder
Jennifer Spitler is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies and Critical Theory, and a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology with a focus on Health Psychology.
Jennifer began her clinical training working with adults experiencing chronic and severe mental illness, many of whom were dually diagnosed with developmental disabilities. In this setting, she was inspired by the resilience and depth of the disabled and neurodiverse community, which sparked her lifelong passion for disability advocacy. She has received training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Jennifer especially loves teaching meditation and helping people integrate meditation into their daily lives.
She has a strong clinical interest in neurophysiology. Diagnosed with ADHD in her 30s, Jennifer developed a passion for exploring the complexities of the human brain. She enjoys translating abstract neurophysiological concepts into practical, accessible language, empowering individuals to better understand and accept their lived experiences. Jennifer is also a Certified ADHD Professional.
Having witnessed the challenges many neurodivergent people face with self-esteem, Jennifer developed a focus on supporting clients in cultivating self-acceptance, self-love, self-worth, and self-respect. She is especially passionate about helping individuals build healthier relationships and a stronger sense of community, recognizing that many neurodivergent people struggle with alienation and fears of being misunderstood.
With her background in critical theory and cultural studies, Jennifer also maintains a deep interest in culture, systemic power dynamics, and their intersectional impacts on mental health. She is committed to creating an accountable and inclusive space where layers of privilege, microaggression, and systemic influences on well-being can be openly explored, fostering both coping skills and resilience.
